Biggest Penfolds fake operation to date

An interprovincial police investigation uncovered the biggest Penfolds counterfeiting operation in China to date. The amount of fake Penfolds discovered was estimated to be over USD 20 million, in an operation running over three years. The network included production, distribution, and sales.

As reported on Vino Joy, the fraudsters would purchase substandard wine and sell it on inflated price through online platforms. The investigation is ongoing.
